The flame bowl "concave" originates from the work cycle "Fire at the Table", on which f maurer worked in 2003-2004. The exciting aspect of this design had convinced the German stainless steel manufacturer mono: A flame hovers above a bowl of matt brushed stainless steel. It is reflected in the concave bowl as if on a stage. Hidden inside is a cavity filled with lamp oil, which feeds the flame for a long time. Winner of several international design awards, "concave" is one of the mono design classics alongside the "mono A" cutlery series and the "monoFilio" teapot.
mono concave is available in three sizes ø 13 cm, ø 20 cm, ø 26 cm and as a wall-mounted "convex" model with ø 26 cm.
As a bowl for the single flower, "conglas" complements the product family.

Statement:
"In the work cycle "Fire at the Table" we had generally dealt with the emotional attraction of fire, in the specific case also with the cultic use of fire bowls in different cultural circles. Anyone who has ever felt the magical power of butter oil bowls in Tibetan monasteries will remember this forever. With the oil lamp "concave" I have tried to translate this emotional moment into a product for our cultural circle."
